The puppies are here!!!!

Cooper was bred to Bailey a few months ago and she delivered 8 beautiful pups on Thursday. I'm off to visit my grand-pups today!! Hope to get some great pictures (if the camera works - we are limping the D70 along - it's way past its shutter activations and starting to misbehave, much to our dismay!). Here are a few shots that Jeanne and Klaus (our awesome breeders we got Cooper from ) took - enjoy!!

Baby Quilt Top Complete!

After procrastinating on squaring up the half square triangles. I finally got my butt in motion and finished the quilt top for Joe & Julie's baby on the way (Olivia)! Let's start at the beginning....my game plan - in all in colored pencil goodness

All of the 5" squares ready and waiting....I have the white ones marked with a line on the diagonal so I know where to sew.
All sewn and pressed...just need a trim (This is where I procrastinated the most - I wasn't looking forward to squaring these up - AT ALL!)
TA-DA! All ready to go

The finished product (well, top anyway!) I actually got most of the points to match up, much to my delight! I'm slowly getting better at this!)

Giveaways at Gaerte Gang!!!

Danielle over at Gaerte Gang is having some great giveaways! There are 2 that I'm really interested in: The first is a layer cake from Fat Quarter Shop and the second is for a Rubbermaid Reveal Mop. I'd love to win either, as I love fabric and I can use a new mop to try out on the new "hardwood" floors! Head on over and check out her great blog!!

New sewing table!

So I've finally decided to move my productions into my office and leave the kitchen table for eating and board games (much to the hubby's delight!) I found this great table at Ikea - it has two built in leaves that are easy to pull out - they almost double the table size! Finally, my machine has a home of its own!

One day we will get trim for the house, I mean it! We put the floors in this year, so now we have to decide what we want for trim. It's a work in progress, right?! I find it funny that I picked this color scheme out before it got all popular! Who knew I was a trend setter! And yes, those are S'mores figurines on the right! They crack me up - hikers, campers, grillers, a nurse, and even Frankensmore!

Also, I finally got in the fabric for a baby quilt for our friends, Joe & Julie. I'm planning on pinwheels. The fabric is Summer Song by Riley Blake. Will post more pictures as I work on this one! I'm planning on cutting fabrics today if I don't get called into work.

While I was out shopping for fabrics for the Modern Holiday 2-1/2" square swap, I stumbled upon Creative Quilt Kits brick and mortar store in Brighton. It's a bit overwhelming to see all the fabrics in that small place. But a few caught my eye and I had to have them!! Laura Gunn - what more can I say :)

My First Swap

So I've worked up the nerve to starting swimming in the deeper end of the blog pool. I've signed up for my first fabric swap online. Audrey, over at Pickles & Bacon, is hosting a Modern Holiday 2.5" square fabric swap.

I've been harboring the idea of making a postage-stamp style quilt in the back of my mind since I've started all of this quilting craziness, and I think this is the perfect way to gather some great fabrics! I'm thinking about using a technique posted by Elizabeth from Oh, Fransson! to easily sewing all those small square together.

Come and join me! The water's fine!! Click the button on the upper right corner of the page to get to Audrey's blog and sign up.
